It’s Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year! This year, even Apple is having a sale!

My friend Danny bought the new MacBook the day it came out! I played with it and I have to admit it’s quite amazing. I’m seriously consider getting one now, especially since they cut the price by more than $100 today.

It’s been more than 10 years since I switched from the Mac to the PC, and making the switch from PC back to Mac couldn’t be easier today. BootCamp and Parallels both make software that let you run full Windows on your Mac. And Belkin makes this little “Switch-to-Mac” cable that imports and transfers all your compatible files and data to the Mac counterpart such as Emails, Browser settings, Photos and Music.

Adrian Grenier, Vinnie Chase from HBO’s Entourage hosted my annual Thanksgiving Eve party last night. His band (yes he has a band) the Honey Brothers performed to a packed house. He’s actually not a bad drummer!

Aubrey O'Day of Danity Kane

So apparently Aubrey O’Day from MTV’s Making the Band with P. Diddy just finished shooting for Playboy magazine.

She’s been going for a much more sexual image lately, posing (on the left) for Travis Barker’s clothing line looking like a pornstar not long ago.

The Playboy spread was shot by famous photog Markus Klinko.

That reminds me… I think I left my Danity Kane autographed poster in the office…

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt eloped in Mexico

Apparently Heidi and Spencer from MTV’s The Hills got married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Nov 20th.

After more than a decade, Guns N Roses (well pretty much just Axl Rose at this point) finally releases the long anticipated album Chinese Democracy.

Earlier in March, Dr. Pepper has offered to give free Dr. Pepper to EVERYONE in United States if the album is released this year. And with yesterday’s album release, Dr. Pepper honors its promise by allowing people to download a coupon from its website good for redeeming a free Dr. Pepper.

Except there were so many people flooding to the website that it crashed for most of yesterday. So the folks over at Dr. Pepper extended the offer for another day, good until 6 P.M. today! So go get your free drink!

This year’s American Music Awards winners were picked by fans voting online at ABC.com, which as expected landed most of the major awards in the hands of the teen-idols-of-the-moment. Entourage is being DVR’ed and I have nothing better to do, so here are some interesting observations and highlights from this year’s AMA, or “Junior Prom” as it should be called…

Taylor Swift gives a haunting performance at the American Music Awards. Her song no doubt inspired by her break up with Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers (I wonder how he feels sitting in the front row when his ex-girlfriend sing to the world about what a jerk he was, hmm…) Later Taylor went on winning the favorite female Country artist over Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire.

Jonas Brothers on the other hand gave an awful performance at the show, Joe Jonas was off key, the trio looked like pre-schoolers rocking on guitar-hero gaming system. Although the fans did vote them the winner of the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist award.

NeYo performs at the 2008 American Music Awards, and shows off the coolest move out of all performers all night - he kicks over the mic stand, just as it almost hits the floor he steps on the base and spins the stand 360 degrees under his feet and pops it back up - HOT!

Alicia Keys hands downs had the best fashion sense at the show. She had the most stunning India-inspired blue dress and diamond head piece. She also won Favorite Pop/Rock album and Favorite Soul/R&B album.

Kanye West on the other hand, had the worst fashion sense. I mean hello? Didn’t anyone tell him that this is a Black Tie Formal affair?? That track jacket might be ok if he’s shooting a cartoon version of Star Trek, but to an awards ceremony? Host Jimmy Kimmel mocked Kanye’s “modesty” at the show. Kanye West did win a couple awards but strangely declared on stage that he wants to give it away to Lil Wayne… I wonder if Lil Wayne is amused or just embarrassed.

Mariah Carey had a big night, winning awards for breaking Elvis’ record of most #1 singles on the charts ever! And also breaking the record of # of weeks as #1 on the charts for a female artist. Although she did demand private jets and presidential accommodations just to fly in to accept the awards, but she’s a Diva, what can I say?! Go Mariah!

The American Music Awards is broadcasting live right now and guess what I find? The official ABC website for the show is listing the wrong winner for Favorite Female artist in Soul/R&B! Rihanna just won live on TV and the website is listing Mary J. Blige as the winner! Conspiracy or incompetent web producer?? hmmm…

Me and Andrew McMahon of Jack

So I’ve always been a fan of the band Something Corporate. A few years ago the lead singer Andrew McMahon was diagnosed with cancer and the band broke up.

Amazingly Andrew beat cancer and is staging an amzing come back! His new band Jack’s Mannequin is the new hotness. So when I was offered tickets to the last show on their tour at the Blender Theater in New York and invite to the afterparty at the exclusive Members-Only Norwood House, I was more than happy to oblige.

The show rocked! It far exceeded my expectations. How often do you see a piano-player/singer jump on top of the piano, tossing paper airplanes into the audience while singing and playing the piano with his feet in sneakers?!! Not making this up!

At the afterparty I caught up with Andrew and chatted for a while. He is one of the nicest and most humble rockstars off stage. I couldn’t believe it. For the rest of the night everytime he walks by me and my friends he stops and thanks us for coming out to support. What a nice guy!

Jerry Yang, founder and CEO of Yahoo, announced today he would be stepping down as CEO and leaving his beloved company.

He has caught a lot of heat this year for rejecting Microsoft’s takeover offer of $33/share, combined with the dreadful ad market and economy, Yahoo’s stock has plunged to a five-year low of $10.63/share.

With billionaire shareholder Carl Icahn forcing himself onto the board and blasting Jerry in public whatever chance he gets, I don’t blame him for calling it quits.

It must be so disheartening to be forced out of the company you built with your heart and sweat for more than a decade. There are many things I would like to say right now… maybe one day.

So we all know that Kanye West is full of himself. But he just took it to a whole new level.

In a recent interview with the associated press, he said,

“I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation…”

That’s not all, he went on to slam Justin Timberlake, saying,

“There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums…”

Ouch!
