Jerry Yang forced to leave Yahoo

Jerry Yang YahooJerry Yang, founder and CEO of Yahoo, announced today he would be stepping down as CEO and leaving his beloved company.

He has caught a lot of heat this year for rejecting Microsoft’s takeover offer of $33/share, combined with the dreadful ad market and economy, Yahoo’s stock has plunged to a five-year low of $10.63/share.

With billionaire shareholder Carl Icahn forcing himself onto the board and blasting Jerry in public whatever chance he gets, I don’t blame him for calling it quits.

It must be so disheartening to be forced out of the company you built with your heart and sweat for more than a decade. There are many things I would like to say right now… maybe one day.
